I bought a guide gun about five years ago and when I received it, it has a micro crack in the stock at the tang. I contacted Marlin customer service and they sent me a new stock free of charge without me having to send the gun back. I got the new one, put it on, and everything looked and worked great.

I do not ever recall The Duke carrying an 1873. He always preferred the Model 92. If he would only have brought it with him to the Alamo things might have turned out different.

Here is a better picture with the cylinder open. Looks like it is tight tolerances to direct the blast to the other side of the cylinder. Beware it is a large image, but you can see the detail.

Note: the cylinder guard is only on the left side. So you lefties beware. :evil: This would be a cool gun if they would lose that ugly stock.
