I ended up with some of that russian stuff on a gun trade years ago. I guess it was better than nothing but it wasn't too good. One of my sons gave me a scope called a iGEN NV20/20 and it is pretty cool.

I read something about the Lees using catnip as trap bait back in the 30s. It would be an interesting experment to hang a sack of catnip with a trail cam aimed at it and see what comes in.

You are a lucky man. Are you familiar with High and Lonesome press out of Silver City? They are a small publisher that specializes in books on the West, guns and history. They reprint a lot of books on life in New Mexico in the past and a lot of classic hunting books that never saw wide circulation....

I ordered some flush mount studs from Brownells for my 1895 (made in 1905). The wood isn't original and I hate the way sling stud look on a levergun. I also ordered the installation jig. Unfortunately both were back ordered so I am still waiting.

I knew it was a longshot but I thought I would try. I have a lot of fond memories of Mendo county. I used to camp along the Navarro and on Big River as well as on the beaches. Some friends had a place at Sea Ranch but I think I liked camping better. Fun times.

Ashley (XS) ghost ring. I find the day glow and glow in the dark stuff distracting and extremely ugly on a traditional firearm. The thin white line on the Ashley front sight is all you need in low light.

Tell us more about the CCI wrf. I haven't heard about these and I have a 1890 wrf. Are you using the mag cylinder on the single six to shoot them? I have had a single six for 35 years and I shoot LR almost all the time. It is very accurate after all the use and abuse it has seen. A great gun. Dave

I know that, I just can't resist poking fun of the gov. I find it hard to believe that a transitor radio battery hooked up to a piece of nycrome wire will actually get hot enough to set off the powder. Granted it will get hot enough when plugged into household power but a 9v battery?

I have a B. Rizzini shotgun that has clear coat on the case color. It is my only complaint about the gun after about ten years. The clear coat has partially worn through where I carry the gun. At somepoint I will have to get the receiver refinished.
