The cheapest unattached one I saw at the big Missoula show was $145(It did have the orig.box)..I am now looking at Rem mdl. 14,serial#16974,a 30 R. and # 21461.a 32 R. neither of which have those aforementioned holes.??? Nate

According to my maternal granddad, about 75% of the people in that area born after 1900 were most likely to be either honyocks or bohunkers. I'm not at all sure how he distinguished one from the other..!! Nate

MOst of the 348 Ammo I've sold at Idaho/Montana gunshows in the last two years brought $50/bx for the 200 gr, $60-65 for the old 150 gr,or 250 gr... These were not in collector grade boxes,but the ammo was clean and usable...BUT, I don't take anything to a gunshow that I expect to have to take home ...

As of now,I'm down to owning only one of each of the above, and the 257 R. is an early 1960s Rem.760...Plenty of wear showing externally but still a fine shooting hunting rifle...Sold my Sav.99 25/35 ,26 " full octagon barrel a few weeks ago,as it came to be too unwieldy for a guy my age to car...

I've been shooting this one in 30 wcf.,30 Rem, 30/40,300 S.,7.65 Arg.and 303 Br. for a decade or more(ever since i read some of Paco's writing on it for the 30/30..Have 3 Lyman moulds for it,and a 6c Lee group buy clone..The lee drops them at .315 with our alloy,and I won't size it down small enough...

FWIW, before Remington "invented" their "own 30/30". they sold the Remington-Lee bolt rifle in 30/30(among several other chamberings).. Apparently not a lot of them,though, as I'm owning the only one I've ever seen offered for sale or on display.. Nate
