I can't even say what it is exactly that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when I look at and pick up a Lee Enfield. Mausers and Springfields don't do that for me.Hobie wrote:I do love the Enfield action. Mr. Lee had it right!

I currently have modest plans: my next purchase will be a Henry leveraction youth carbine in 22lr. After reading all the positive comments on them here on this forum and the fact that Marlin doesn't make a Mountie model anymore and if they did it would have a crossbolt safety and a rebounding hammer...

I tried to do some research on the .375-2 1/2 and couldn't find much information, looks like it would make a fantastic "varmint" round I found a little more info on the 35-303, which seems to be a more common Enfield conversion. Reloading dies for these "oddballs" would probably ...

Re: Thoughts on lever as bad times rifle?????????
The best bad times rifle would be the one you have the most ammo for or the one you can carry the most ammo for. In most cases I think that would be a 22lr. You could feed yourself with it almost indefinitely, defend yourself with it in a pinch, and not make much noise. Having said all that though, ...

Let me pose this as a theoretical exercise, since we all seem to be going a little stir crazy this winter. I’ve got a No.4 Mk 1 Enfield with a worn out barrel and head space issues. I’ve toyed with a lot of options for this rifle. It was made in 1947 at Fazarkerly, but is a hodge-podge of parts with...

More anecdotal evidence for the file. I recently watched a medium sized raccoon soak up 5 rounds of 7 1/2 field loads from a modified choke 20 gauge at a distance of approximately 35 feet. It appeared to just make him really mad. A 22lr to his brain pan ended his misery. I don't think the average hu...
