Re: Marlin 336 RC misfire fix?
The two piece firing pin is a safety device, and the spring is supposed to push the rear section down out of alignment with the front section, that is how it works. When the lever is fully closed the locking block pushes the rear section up so it is properly aligned. This cannot be seen! All your fr...

More words about the merit optical device please. Does it use a prescription lens? That's outstanding shooting, and you waited two shots longer than I would have, LOL ! Since Winchester lists 5.3 gr. 231 w/230 jacketed bullet as maximum @ 16,900 PSI I would say the load is somewhat marginal to begin with. It will average somewhere around 20,000 PSI with correct primers. My recollection is that SAAMI MAP for the .45 ACP is 20,000, so that isn't the issue. That said,...

Measuring new untrimmed Winchester 38-55 brass gives 2.080 - 2.083 - even the longest easily slide all the way in. The chamber is apparently longer than that. Yes, they very well may easily chamber at he 2.080, remember the crimp. This is a reference direct from this forum:http://www.leverguns.com/...

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the 38-55 brass was shortened so that it chamber in the new (at the time) 375 Win rifles. The reason being that the 38-55 was pretty much obsolete and not being chambered in rifles at that time. By shortening the brass, one could continue to use the 38-55, ...

Just for the record, the only similarity between the .22-3000 and the .22-250 is they are both .22 caliber. The .22-250 is nothing more than the .250 Savage necked down to.22 with no other changes. t is a rimless cartridge with the standard .473 nominal diameter head shared by all cartridges develop...

Try applying a little more crimp and you will find that it evens out. The weaker side (thinner) of the case gives way first allowing the crimp bevel to push the case even more to that side. rimping slighly more forces the case to center in the die. A second possibility is your brass has uneven mouth...

As J Miller said above, you have a standard RBS 3 die set with a second carbide sizer die. The expander goes in the aluminum die body, just as you have it in the second photo. If you need a set of instructions to adjust the dies you can down-load it off the RCBS web site. Be sure that, when setting ...

The idiot in the hanging, log, basket is way over-acting. Actually, those scenes were quite true to the book. Possibly a silly premise, but that was the authors fault. Instead of only a couple minutes, in the book the cage and pit spanned several chapters. Not defending the movie, really it was ter...

Cheers Terry, I wonder why It did not work? Any imfo? I can understand the mag problem. I was thinking of this in a single shot rifle. Have to agree and disagree with Charles. The very first error made was in the intro where they placed the time as 1858. The Great Comanche Raid occurred in 1840 as retribution for the so-called Council House Fight in which the Comanche chiefs were lured to a council and then murdered. You don't have...

Re: Question for those who reload 45/70 in Marlin 1895
Short answer, No.cutter wrote:I have heard that any cast bullet over 405gr will not cycle through the Marlin 1895 action.
Is this true?
What is critical is overall length. So long as you stay under 2.550 you should be OK. Some Marlins can take a little more length, but not much.
