Thanks Wayne, I've never seen BP shot in one of the old style levers. I find interesting how big a puff of smoke comes out the action on firing (before the action is cycled). It appears a fair amount escapes before the case seals the chamber. Does this also happen when shooting BP in thin walled br...

Hi Kid! I didn't try the Blakslee Box this trip out. This was more of a function check with a new load. I was hoping to do some serious accuracy testing, but I got rained out. Next time though...... :D

This is a video of me shooting my Uberti '73 Winchester Short Rifle in .45 Colt. The load is a 250gr Lyman RNFP over 36gr of Goex fffg in Winchester cases with a Winchester Large Pistol Primer touching it off. I was shooting at a rock over the creek bank about 50 yards away. I think I hit it.....fro...

Spencer In Action!

I was finally able to wrestle the video camera away from the teenage daughter and took some video of me shooting my Taylor 56-50 Spencer carbine. The load is a 355gr Rapine bullet over 38gr of fffg Goex fired off by a Winchester Large Rifle Magnum primer in Starline cases. Hopefully this will work.....

Wow. Very neat. I've thought about doing something very similar to my Taylor Spencer repro. I saw an original Spencer at a gunshow a few years ago set up with a fairly heavy octagon barrel. I think one with a 24" octagon would balance very nicely. The current carbine is pretty butt heavy.

I have always had a hankerin' to own a really clean High Wall in 38-55. To me, that would be very close to an all-around rifle. These Little Sharps rifles might just be the answer to that. I might have to take a look at one...after I pay for my current Shiloh order. :shock:

For what I shoot, and for what I reload, I could very easily get away with ffg Goex....Although fffg Goex works better in .45 Colt and 56-60 Spencer. I have to admit, however, that there are a few calibers that I just don't reload for, 7.62X39 and 9mm being two examples. Pretty much everything else ...

Guys, that rifle weighs less than ten pounds. It will kick the snot out of you in 50-90. In 50-140, it will kick you loose from your fillings! :shock:

An Uberti-made 1876 Centennial Saddle Ring Carbine in 45-60 WCF with a REAL color cased receiver and rust-blued barrel. While you are at it, throw in some deluxe walnut Baring that, I'd settle for an original Winchester to the same specs..... :shock:
