Re: Can a canted barrel on a Model 94 be fixed???
Yup. I am sure. The groups were moving to the right, towards center of target, but I ran out of windage with the groups still too far LEFT of center. I took the rings and bases off a few times and put them back on, thinking each time that they must be on kind of funny, but each time I got the same r...

Re: Can a canted barrel on a Model 94 be fixed???
Well, you guys are going to hate me, but the way I figured out something was wrong is that I tried to mount a scope. The scope seemed to point to the left, but the weird thing is that i ran out of windage with the groups too far to the LEFT. The more I look at this thing, the more I am wondering if ...

Can a canted barrel on a Model 94 be fixed???
I bought a Winchester model 94AE, 30-30, and noticed that the barrel is canted to the right (clockwise rotation, as you look down the barrel through the iron sights.) The rear site is thus rotated a bit, so that the left edge is higher than the right edge. Is this something that a gunsmith could fix...

Last I checked, this is STILL a FREE country and we are free to think what we want , say what we want, and WANT what we want . Winchester brings back the model 94
I see that Winchester has brought back the model 94, but only with 2 fancy models that have lots of commemorative stuff engraved on them. Very pricey, too. Not the way to get anyone interested in, or buying a model 94 except for collectors. Very happy to see they are bringing it back, but totally, c...

Re: New Mossberg Leveraction
The rifle is now out in the stores and in the hands of shooters, getting some good reports and good press, and I finally got to hold one in my hands at Village Arms in Gap, PA. Very nice rifle. Decent price. The main reason I want one is because it is a nice-looking, nice-handling 30 W.C.F. that I w...

I have a Mossberg 500, 20 gauge. I keep it loaded with 3 inch magnum shells, #2 buckshot. I read through the Box of Truth piece, and it looks like the 2 3/4 inch shells with #3 buck in the 20 gauge are fine for self defense. I think my set up is even better than that. The recoil is significantly les...

OT: Lexington and Concord
I've got two weeks off from work in mid-June, and I was thinking that it might be nice to take a run up to Lexington and Concord to see where our Nation's freedom began. It is fitting, and proper, that our first act as a free people was to defned our collection of firearms against those agents of ty...
