I can't help you out on the tang sight as I prefer a receiver sight myself. But don't let these guys get you down, it sounds like you got a good rifle and it's accurate, have fun with it and add what ever you want to it.

We had a great time. Burned up a lot of ammo and managed to take out a few Prairie Dogs in the process. Our guide Josh keep us on the dog towns. That's a good looking hat. I picked up an Airway(?), imported by Stetson, earlier in the spring and like it, the crown is fairly open to let the breeze in and the heat out. But it don't look as well made as yours.
