I've found that the forward-mount scout scope doesn't work for me all the time. When light is good the set-up is terrific, but in some light conditions it's hard to get a sight picture. I've killed a few of hogs with my Browning 71, all using some Grizzly ammo loaded with 250 Kodiak bonded bullets. I was trying to recover a bullet for Mike Rintoul but the hogs wouldn't stop them. Finally recovered one from a Water Buffalo that I shot with CRS and 86er. Not quite the caliber for Wat...

Question is, which caliber would you choose in a 16.5 inch barrel, takedown, (scout scope optional) for a hunting rifle, deer, hog, bear? I can't help you out on the tang sight as I prefer a receiver sight myself. But don't let these guys get you down, it sounds like you got a good rifle and it's accurate, have fun with it and add what ever you want to it.

We had a great time. Burned up a lot of ammo and managed to take out a few Prairie Dogs in the process. Our guide Josh keep us on the dog towns. He had four different towns that he took us to, three of them smaller ones and the one big one on his neighbors place. I think my back is starting to relax...

That's a good looking hat. I picked up an Airway(?), imported by Stetson, earlier in the spring and like it, the crown is fairly open to let the breeze in and the heat out. But it don't look as well made as yours.
